Child Welfare Provider Training Academy
The Child Welfare Provider Training Academy (Training Academy) is funded by the Iowa Legislature and is a partnership between the State of Iowa through DHS and the Coalition for Family and Children's Services in Iowa. The purpose is to develop and deliver quality training and related services to child welfare frontline staff and supervisors through the state.
The Governor proposed a "status quo" budget for the Training Academy. The Training Academy took a 25% reduction with the Governor's 10% across-the-board cuts. The Training Academy has been fiscally responsible with the money and will have money to carry over for SFY 2011.
However, the legislators are not sure if they are going to allow any carry over money in SFY 2011. If the training academy does not get the carry over, the Training Academy as you know it will not exist.
