#24 Grief - Giving Care, Taking Care
Grief - Giving Care, Taking Care
Participants in this session will gain insight into children's and teens reactions to loss and change - from being removed from their homes to losing parents permanently through death. You will also learn age-appropriate ways to talk with children about death depending on their developmental level. Participants will be able to identify practical responses for supporting a child or teen who has experienced a significant life loss. Discussion will be held on the "factors" and "effects" of grief and how those impact others and ourselves. Finally, participants will acknowledge that as caregivers, we experience grief in our work and we will explore creative ways we can balance our personal and professional grief issues.
