By-Laws

The Coalition Board of Directors approved amendments to the by-laws on June 3, 2010.  

It is important that every organization review its by-laws to make sure that they are responsive to the organization's members and their needs.  Organizations that do not review their by-laws sometimes end up burdened with antiquated by-laws that no longer reflect the organization's mission, needs, or direction.  

A special thank you to the by-laws committee:  Carol Wood (Christian Home Association,Inc), Brad Klug (Rabiner Treatment Center) and David VanNigen (Hope Haven)  who reviewed the Revised Iowa Nonprofit Corporation Act, Iowa Principles and Practices for Charitable Nonprofit Excellence developed by Iowa Governor's Nonprofit Task Force and other state organizations' by-laws.  It was a thoughtful process that compared practice with the current by-laws.
