Course Description: This training will provide an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the core features and symptoms related to communication. Participants will understand the variety of communication modes and methods, such as use of gestures, sign, AAC devices, and vocal communication. The training will provide participants will an understanding of communication strategies to promote communication for those with autism spectrum disorder and how to create opportunities to teach communication within daily routines and activities. Registration closes 48 hours before the training. Intended Audience: Family Centered Services (FCS) Staff; Qualified Residential Treatment Program Staff (QRTP), Shelter Staff (Child Welfare Emergency Services), Supervised Apartment Living Staff (SAL); Recruitment/Retention Training Support Staff (RRTS) Direct Care/Front-Line Staff and Supervisors Location Information: Zoom Trainer: Child Serve ChildServe improves the health and well-being of 5,800 children each year through specialized clinical, home, and community-based programs and services.
