This workshop will explore the intersection of ethics and self-care, addressing how burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma can impact judgment, performance, and the ability to uphold ethical standards. Participants will gain practical self-care strategies that go beyond individual efforts, emphasizing the role of organizational policies, leadership support, and workplace culture in promoting well-being. By fostering a self-care mindset and advocating for systemic changes, child welfare professionals can sustain their passion for the work while maintaining the ethical responsibility to care for themselves as they care for others. Intended Audience: (FCS) Staff; Qualified Residential Treatment Program Staff (QRTP), Shelter Staff (Child Welfare Emergency Services), Supervised Apartment Living Staff (SAL); Recruitment/Retention Training Support Staff (RRTS) Direct Care/Front-Line Staff and Supervisors. Location Information: Zoom Trainer: Presidential Consultants- Jake Ross, MSW, LISW-S, is a licensed independent social worker in Ohio with over fifteen years of experience in the social work field. He is a highly skilled consultant and trainer known for his dedication to improving organizations and services that cater to children, adolescents, and individuals with mental health needs. Jake earned his Bachelor's in Social Work from Marshall University and his MSW from Concord University, focusing on Rural Appalachia. His career includes extensive experience in child welfare, trauma-informed care, and clinical operations. He has designed innovative residential treatment facilities and developed programs that enhance client care and support. The Training Room will open at 9:10AM. Training will begin promptly at 9:30AM. This training is scheduled until 12:30PM.
