Course Description: This introductory training is designed for child welfare professionals to build a foundational understanding of trauma and its impact on children and youth. With over 75% of children in the U.S. exposed to traumatic events, it is critical for staff to recognize how trauma affects development, behavior, and relationships. Participants will learn to identify signs of trauma exposure and explore strategies to effectively engage and support trauma-impacted children and families in their care. Registration closes 48 Hours prior to training. Intended Audience: Family Centered Services (FCS) Staff; Qualified Residential Treatment Program Staff (QRTP), Shelter Staff (Child Welfare Emergency Services), Supervised Apartment Living Staff (SAL); Recruitment/Retention Training Support Staff (RRTS) Direct Care/Front-Line Staff and Supervisors.
