Course Description: Challenging behavior is often a barrier for children with autism and their caregivers, but with the right strategies, it can be addressed effectively. This training provides an overview of common interfering behaviors, the role of trauma and sensory needs, and practical tools to prevent and de-escalate challenging situations. Through case examples, you’ll learn how to recognize root causes and apply supportive strategies that create more positive outcomes for both children and families.

Trainer: Samantha Cermak is the Director of Autism Services at ChildServe and oversees the clinical development of ChildServe’s ABA program.  Samantha has been a BCBA and Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Iowa for 13 years.  She has practiced in homes, clinical, residential and school settings, primarily focusing on supporting children with autism diagnoses and their families.  She has clinical interests in early interventions for toddlers and young children with autism, training systems, and family training.  

The Training Room will open at 9:50AM. Training will begin promptly at 10:00AM. This training is scheduled until 11:30AM.
