10.22.26 Understanding Kids in Child Welfare (Virtual)
Thursday, October 22, 2026, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM CDT
Category: Training

Children's behavior, abilities, and needs can look very different depending on where they are developmentally—and experiences such as stress, trauma, and disruption can further shape development. This training helps child welfare professionals better understand children's social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs and apply that understanding in everyday interactions. Participants will explore developmental stages, brain development and regulation, developmentally appropriate expectations, positive discipline, routines and structure, and practical ways to support parents and caregivers in meeting children where they are.

"This training was great! I've attended a lot of child development trainings, but I really enjoyed this information and how it was presented."

"I learned the importance of meeting children where they are developmentally."

"This training reinforced that when children act out, they are still developing and learning."

Location Info:  Zoom

The Training Room will open at 9:20AM. Training will begin promptly at 9:30AM. This training is scheduled until 12:30PM.
