This course will highlight the philosophical changes with the Family Firs t Prevention Services Act (Family First) in relation to the impact on child ren and families at-risk for entry into the child welfare system. In Iowa, parental substance use is strongly correlated with young children involved in the child welfare system. Participants will learn about the impact of su bstance use on the family unit and learn the opportunities available to sup port families living with substance use disorders.

d abuse prevention effort. Prior to this position Greg spent over 10 years
working various capacities in substance use disorder treatment and is a cer
tified alcohol and drug counselor. Greg Received his bachelor’s degree in P
sychology and his master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.<
