Southwest Iowa Family Access Center

Southwest Iowa Family Access Center (SWIFAC) is hiring a full-time Program Director. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Health or Human Services or related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in Child Welfare Services. This position requires 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience. FSRP/ Safety services delivery experience is preferred. Master's degree in Human Services preferred.

The Program Director position will provide supervision to the program supervisors as well as general oversight of service area Family Safety Risk Permanency (FSRP), safety plan services and Family/Youth Team decision making meeting facilitators. Be a critical part of leadership and ensures that services are provided within a strength-based framework. Collaborate with DHS and other stakeholders to ensure that services are provided and clients’ needs met. Be involved in all aspects of contract management. The Program Director position will also be responsible for the hiring/terminating of both direct care and supervisory staff, conduct shadowing sessions with supervisors, provide feedback and guidance to supervisor staff, as well as formulate agendas and hold weekly supervisor’s meetings. Required skills include: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and maintain organization, excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of theories, methodologies, techniques, and federal and state laws pertinent to child welfare and clinical interventions, ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and competence, and a commitment to empower families and to treat them with respect and dignity.
