Documentation is a core responsibility of every worker to ensure that the safety of children is appropriately addressed and effectively documented throughout the life of a case. Appropriate documentation will identify and describe information in an accurate, complete, and professional manner. This course will share the importance of documentation; identify tools to accurately reflect behavior observations in a succinct manner; and help create the understanding for the use of documentation to represent the interventions and outcomes within the life of a case.

TRAINERS:

Lori Mozena, MS, LMFT - Ms. Mozena is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Iowa, she has been providing child welfare services in Iowa for over 30 years.  Ms. Mozena has developed and facilitated training on a variety of child welfare topics for the Iowa Department of Human Services staff and providers for the past 29 years.  Ms. Mozena has presented on various child welfare topics both nationally and internationally. Ms. Mozena is a certified trainer for SafeCare and Solution-based Casework. Ms. Mozena currently holds the position of Director of Family Preservation Services for The Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc.

 

Registration will begin at 8:30AM. Training will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. This training is scheduled until 12pm.

Masks are highly recommended. Social distancing will be practiced when available. 

Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the curerent DHS child welfare service contracts, including: Family Centered Services (FCS); Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) / Group Foster Care; Child Welfare Emergency Services (CWES): Aftercare Services; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support Services (RRTS); Parent Partners; Foster Care Youth Council. If you do not work within one of the current DHS child welfare services contract, you may be bumped from the course and placed on a wait list.
