Relax, It's Only a Crisis (Virtual)

Caseworkers and direct care staff will learn how to better manage their affective response to the “Crisis of the Day.” The course will cover the use of a more detailed self-care plan. Participants in this training will learn issues regarding teamwork, unit culture and administration’s role in crisis management.

David Zidar - 
Dave has been working in child welfare since 1982 as an administrator, trainer and therapist. He worked in the Cleveland area for about 16 years. He was Vice President for residential services in Kentucky. He also has worked in public agencies at the executive level. Currently, he is an independent trainer and therapist throughout the country as well as a Area director in a foster care and mental health agency. Dave has a BSW from Capital University, a MSSA from Case Western Reserve and a certification in Juvenile Sex Offender Treatment from the University of Louisville. He has worked as a therapist and operational director.

 Registration will begin at 8:30AM. Training will begin promptly at 9:00AM. This training is scheduled until 12PM.

Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the current DHS child welfare service contracts, including: Family Centered Services (FCS); Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) / Group Foster Care; Child Welfare Emergency Services (CWES): Aftercare Services; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support Services (RRTS); Parent Partners; Foster Care Youth Council. If you do not work within one of the current DHS child welfare services contract, you may be bumped from the course and placed on a waitlist.
